Temperature dependences of the output energy and gain of an optically pumped NH3 laser

A. P. Dyad'kin, M. M. Ivanenko, A. I. Starodubtsev, V. V. Churakov
Abstract: A considerable difference was found between the temperature dependences of the energy of the output pulses obtained for different lines emitted by a NH3 laser. Calculations of the gain in the laser system provided a theoretical interpretation of the experimental results. It was found that high-power pulses could be obtained as a result of Q transitions in the 0–ν2 band of NH3.
