Abstract:
An investigation was made of a pulsed oxygen–iodine chemical laser without a cold trap. A specific output energy of 2.2 J/liter was achieved using CH3I as a donor of atomic iodine. Lasing of C3F7I was observed up to oxygen pressures of 11 Torr.
