Relationship between formation of radiation color centers and growth defects in YAG:Nd crystals

Abstract: The spectral characteristics of radiation-colored YAG:Nd crystals grown by the Czochralski method were investigated. Some growth defects manifested in the absorption and luminescence spectra were identified. It was found that several types of radiation color centers were formed in these crystals. A correlation between the color centers and growth defects was established.
