Passive switch with a mixture of saturable absorbers for mode locking in solid-state lasers

Abstract: An investigation was made of a passive switch utilizing a mixture of dye solutions 3955 and 3323-u for mode locking in a YAG:Nd3+ laser. Optimal conditions for lasing were identified. The use of a mixture of dyes made it possible to shorten the duration of the pulses and at the same time simplify the construction of the resonator.
