Apparatus for investigating stimulated emission from transverse discharges in pure metal vapors
A. M. Bogus, V. L. Dzhikiya, A. A. Chernov
Abstract:
A description is given of apparatus with a sectioned anode and a common heated-container cathode for investigating transverse pulse discharges ih pure metal vapors emitting stimulated radiation as a result of atomic and ionic transitions. It is reported that a system of anode sections each with its own storage capacitor but with a common cathode and switch can ensure stable and homogeneous discharges over a wide range of pressures. The results are reported of an investigation of the dependence of the properties of stimulated radiation emitted from Sr II ions (λ = 430.5 nm) on the discharge parameters.
