Abstract:
An investigation was made of the mechanisms of inversion of Ne I level populations because of Penning collisions with Ar and H2 in a beam-type discharge in the presence of a grid anode. Lasing was observed in an Ne–H2 mixture excited by a hollow-cathode discharge.
