Abstract:
Measurements were made of the radius of a laser beam in K8 glass during transient thermal self-focusing. These measurements were obtained by the method of high-speed interferometry. The beam did not split into zones but was self-focused as a whole. The results were compared with the theory of transient selffocusing.
