Combined effects of temperature and magnetic field on the emission spectra of long-wavelength laser diodes

Abstract:
A study was made of the combined effects of temperature and magnetic field (up to 12 kOe) on the emission spectra of laser diodes made of lead–tin chalcogenides. An increase in the magnetic field intensity produced a long-wavelength shift of the thermal tuning ranges. The degree of coverage of the complete tuning range by the modes increased considerably in magnetic fields.
