Phase nonreciprocity in an optical fiber interferometer due to acoustic emission

Abstract:
An analysis is made of the mechanism of a nonreciprocal phase shift in a ring fiber interferometer due to elastic deformations traveling along a fiber waveguide. Theoretical and experimental results agree to within an order of magnitude.
