Crosstalk in a one-dimensional controlled transparency utilizing the transverse effect in an electrooptic ceramic

P. D. Berezin, P. Varga, Č. Zakar, G. Kiss
Abstract: A study was made of the mechanism responsible for the crosstalk in a one-dimensional electrically controlled transparency utilizing the transverse electrooptic effect in PLZT ceramic of the 9/65/35 composition. The results indicated a strong dependence of the signal/noise ratio on the repetition frequency of the control pulses. The oscillatory nature of the noise signal associated with vibrations of the ceramic plate made it possible to suppress the noise.
