Modes of a system of two coupled ring resonators

Abstract: An electrodynamic method is used to calculate the frequencies and amplitudes of modes in a system of two coupled ring resonators. It is shown that the spectrum of such a system is nonequidistant and the mode fields are concentrated, depending on the frequency, in one or the other resonator. The case of equal perimeters of the two resonators is considered in detail.
