Characteristics of the active medium of an XeCl ionization laser

I. M. Isakov, A. G. Leonov, V. I. Nevmerzhitskiĭ, I. V. Novobrantsev
Abstract: An experimental investigation was made of the time dependence of the gain of an XeCl laser excited by electron beam pulses of microsecond duration. A strong fall of the gain was observed for Ar–Xe–HCl mixtures with low HCl concentrations. The small-signal gain, absorption coefficient, and saturation intensity were determined.
