Abstract: A theoretical derivation is given of the conditions for competitive dynamics of the interaction of spatial Fourier harmonics of the phase distribution in a wide-aperture nonlinear interferometer with an external diffraction feedback loop. A numerical experiment is used to demonstrate the feasibility of employing such a system in optical image encoding and recognition.
