Abstract:
Theoretical and experimental investigations were made of the interaction of obliquely incident laser pulses, of energies up to 0.5 J and of various polarisations, with an aluminium target in vacuum. Generation of x rays and of fast particles in a superdense plasma, formed by these pulses, was also studied.
