Properties of LiNbO3:Ti waveguides with suppressed outdiffusion of Li2O

Abstract: A study was made of the process of formation of waveguides by the diffusion of Ti in LiNbO3 in an atmosphere rich in Li2O vapor. Single-mode operation region was determined for waveguides of different width handling radiation of wavelengths 0.63–1.15μ; the characteristic features of such waveguides were determined.
