Abstract: A theoretical analysis is made of the possibility of constructing a cw singly resonant optical parametric oscillator. A numerical solution is given of the problem of optimal focusing of pump radiation with the aim of minimization of the lasing threshold. The calculations are carried out for spherical and hemispherical resonators making allowance for the birefringence of the nonlinear crystal.
