Stimulated emission due to the B(1/2)–X2Σ+ transition in the XeF molecule formed by photodissociation of XeF2

N. G. Basov, V. S. Zuev, L. D. Mikheev, D. B. Stavrovskiĭ, V. I. Yalovoĭ
Abstract: Stimulated emission was obtained as a result of the B(1/2)–X2Σ+ transition in the XeF molecule after photodissociation of XeF2 by vacuum ultraviolet radiation emitted from an open high-current discharge in an XeF2–N2–Ar mixture. The duration of stimulated emission was ~2 μsec and the output energy was ~10–3J.
