Experimental observation of waveguide diffraction of light by Sezawa surface acoustic waves
V. I. Anikin, V. I. Korol'kov
Abstract:
An acoustooptic interaction was investigated in a film waveguide made of zinc oxide deposited on a thermally oxidized silicon substrate. Diffraction of laser radiation by Sezawa surface acoustic waves in the resultant multilayer waveguide structure was much stronger than that by quasi-Rayleigh waves. The acoustic and optical parameters of the structure were determined, including the acoustooptic coupling coefficients.
