Abstract: An investigation was made of the energy capabilities of an electron-beam-controlled Ar–Xe laser at active mixture pressures in the range p = 1–4 atm. Under pulse-periodic conditions a reduction in the pressure from 4 to 1 atm caused a drop in the specific output energy from 1000 to 180 W/liter. An analysis was made of the influence of air impurities on the laser energy characteristics.
