Abstract:
Variation of the length of an external resonator resulted in continuous tuning of the emission frequency in a range of 60 GHz, exceeding the intermode spacing (21 GHz) by a factor of 3. This was attributed to a dependence of the refractive index on the electron density. The line width did not exceed 6 MHz.
