Abstract:
A model is proposed to describe the effect of lateral illumination on the optical absorption coefficient of fibres made of chalcogenide glasses. Analytic expressions are obtained for the photostimulated optical absorption coefficient under conditions of such continuous additional illumination. The coefficient is shown to depend on the intensity of the additional illumination, on the temperature of a fiber, and on the energy of the probe radiation photons.
