Picosecond optoelectronic switching with the aid of a semiconductor injection laser

Abstract:
A method was developed for determination of the duration of an output pulse of a semiconductor laser and the duration of the leading edge of an electrical signal generated by this pulse using a double optoelectronic switch. The laser pulse duration found by this method was 18 ps and the duration of the leading edge of an electrical signal was 20 ps.
