Third harmonic generation in ethylene

Abstract: The first study was made of resonant generation of the third harmonic of a CO2 laser in ethylene. The conversion efficiency reached a maximum at 951 cm–1 on the high-frequency side of the ν7 absorption line. Measurements were made of the third-harmonic signal as a function of the pressure and laser radiation power.
