Fluctuations of the intensity of radiation emitted by multimode gas lasers due to a nonequidistant mode distribution

V. A. Bazylenko, Yu. S. Rendel'
Abstract: An experimental study was made of the influence of the mode composition of the radiation emitted by freely oscillating helium-neon lasers on the intensity fluctuations. These fluctuations were measured at the wavelength of λ = 0.63 μ in the frequency range of 0.5–100 kHz. There was a correlation between lowfrequency fluctuations of the intensity and the envelope of high-frequency fluctuations near intermode beat frequencies.
