Abstract:
A YAlO3:Nd3+crystal laser with a prism dispersive resonator was constructed. It emitted frequency-tunable radiation corresponding to the 4F3/2 → 4I11/2(λl = 1.0796, 1.0729, and 1.0644 μ) and 4F3/2 → 4I13/2 (λl = 1.3413 μ) transitions. When the Q factor was modulated by an electrooptic switch made of an LiNbO3 crystal and the lowest transverse mode TEM00 was selected, the radiation power at the wavelengths 1.0796, 1.0644, and 1.3413μ was ~7, 3.5, and 0.9 MW for pulse durations ~14, 25, and 80 nsec, respectively. The values of the gain were determined for a YAlO3:Nd3+ crystal in the case of linear lasing resulting in the emission of the 1.0796, 1.0644, and 1.3413 μ lines.
