Amplification of single pulses in a gadolinium scandium gallium garnet crystal activated with Cr3+ and Nd3+

Abstract:
The gain Nσ = 0.7 cm–1 was determined for an active element in the form of a gadolinium scandium gallium garnet (GSGG) crystal activated with Cr3+ and Nd3+ . The total gain exceeded 103 in a two-pass compact GSGG:Cr3+:Nd3+ laser amplifier.
