Feasibility of remote diagnostics of the atmosphere by Raman-induced Kerr effect spectroscopy

A. F. Bunkin, A. S. Galumyan, D. V. Mal'tsev, K. O. Surskiĭ
Abstract: The method of Raman-induced Kerr effect spectroscopy was used to record spectra of the Q band and a panoramic spectrum including O, Q, and S bands of atmospheric nitrogen with a resolution of 0.1 cm –1 at 293 K under normal pressure. Ways of utilizing this method for remote diagnostics of the atmosphere are considered.
