Abstract: Experimental results provide evidence of the possibility of using KRS5 and KRS6 crystals for acoustic Q switching of a CO2 laser of average power. It is proposed to employ these materials as the acoustic line of an intracavity acoustooptic modulator of the refraction type in order to realize low-frequency modulation of the output radiation from a waveguide CO2 laser.
