Influence of vibrational excitation of molecules on the chirp of pulsed single-frequency CO2 lasers

Abstract:
One of the possible mechanisms that can account for the chirp exhibited by pulsed single-frequency CO2 lasers is the dependence of the nonresonant part of the refractive index on the vibrational excitation of the carbon dioxide molecules.
