Neon–hydrogen plasma laser pumped by a microwave discharge

Abstract:
Lasing was achieved in an Ne–H2 mixture (λ = 585.3 nm) pumped by a microwave pulse. This demonstrates that a supercooled plasma may be generated in a microwave discharge and that this may be used to excite plasma lasers.
