Threshold of photoinduced conversion of the polarization of radiation in lithium niobate optical waveguides

Abstract: A threshold of photoinduced conversion of an ordinary wave into an extraordinary one was discovered for lithium niobate optical waveguides. The threshold intensity of the radiation was determined for waveguides prepared under different conditions. The experimental results were compared with theoretical estimates.
