Analysis of errors in the determination of parameters of laser-active media from the spectral distribution of the amplifying characteristics

Abstract:
The example of laser-active media containing carbon dioxide molecules is used to analyze the influence of errors in the determination of the amplifying (absorbing) characteristics of a medium on the accuracy of determination of the parameters representing the state of such a medium (temperature, populations of vibrational–rotational levels) from the spectral distributions of the amplifying characteristics. The ranges of the parameters in which it is possible to determine such characteristics with the required precision are found.
