Fast formation of a pulse train in a synchronously pumped dye laser

Abstract: A report is given of numerical modeling and experimental investigation of the dynamics of generation of picosecond pulses by a synchronously pumped dye laser. It is shown that quasisteady lasing can be established rapidly. The efficiency of conversion to tunable radiation can reach 20%.
