Mathematical model of an XeCl laser

Abstract:
A mathematical model of an XeCl laser is described. A study is made of the influence of electron–electron collisions and also of collisions with excited particles on the growth time of discharge instabilities and on the lasing characteristics. It is shown that these two processes are important and they affect approximately equally the evolution of the current discharge and of the output radiation power.
