Picosecond differential absorption spectroscopy of photosynthetic bacterial chromatophores

Abstract: An analysis was made of the data obtained on chromatophores of photosynthetic bacteria by picosecond laser spectroscopy. The conflicts between the results of fluorescence and absorption measurements can be resolved if an allowance is made for the absorption of light by excited states of bacteriochlorophyll as well as for singlet–singlet annihilation.
