Abstract:
An investigation was made of the influence of SF6 admixtures on the efficiency of generation of infrared laser radiation in Ar–Xe and He–Xe mixtures (0.75 and 1.5 atm) pumped by an electron beam (0.05 A/cm2, 30 μsec and 0.6 A/cm2, 6 μsec). An increase in the beam current density slowed down considerably the fall of the laser radiation power on increase in the impurity concentration at SF6 pressures in the range 1.7–5.7 Torr for Ar–Xe and 5.45–22 Torr for He–Xe.
