Investigation of the energy characteristics of a cw gas-flow electric-discharge CO2 amplifier

Abstract:
An experimental investigation was made of the energy characteristics of a cw multipass electric-discharge amplifier based on a TL-10 industrial laser. An average output power of 6.3 kW for an efficiency of 12% was attained. The polarization and mode composition of the radiation were not affected by the amplification process. A theoretical optimization was carried out of the optical system for a 10-pass amplifier.
