Spectral correlation of the components of a two-frequency tunable laser
V. I. Kravchenko, E. G. Levchenko, V. L. Tkachenko
Abstract:
An investigation was made of the statistical properties of the radiation spectrum of a pulsed tunable laser emitting at two wavelengths simultaneously, λ1 and λ2. The correlation between the instantaneous and average values of λ1 and λ2 was studied, and it was found that under conditions of asymmetric limitations of the field in the resonator and a dynamic lens induced by the pump radiation in the active medium, the change in the average wavelengths of the components is characterized by a high correlation coefficient K > 0.8. These results offer the prospect of improved accuracy in measurements involving two-frequency lasers.
