Constriction of the caustic under conditions of resonant self-focusing with weak saturation of the nonlinearity

A. Zh. Muradyan
Abstract: An analysis is made of the dependences of the transverse and longitudinal dimensions of the constriction at the caustic on the resonance detuning under conditions of resonant selffocusing of high-intensity radiation. A V-shaped dependence is obtained for both caustic dimensions. This behavior of the caustic dimensions near resonance may influence strongly the experimentally observed frequency dependences of high-order nonlinear processes.
