Abstract:
It is shown for the first time that several new nonreciprocal optical effects can occur in spatially inhomogeneous nonlinear media. The example of propagation of ultrashort pulses in inhomogeneous cubically nonlinear media is used to demonstrate the feasibility of appearance of the spectral nonreciprocity.
