Direct pulse-code modulation of high-power heterolaser radiation

Abstract: A prototype optical data transmitter based on (GaAl)As heterolasers with a cw output power up to 300 mW was investigated. This transmitter utilized pulse-code modulation at a clock frequency up to 500 MHz.
