Abstract:
An automated pulsed CARS spectrometer was developed for the investigation of molecular gases with a resolution of 0.1 cm – 1 in the Raman frequency range 500–5000 cm – 1. The capabilities of this spectrometer were tested by determination of the distribution of populations between the vibrational and rotational states of the N2 molecule excited in a discharge.
