Detection of the optical anisotropy in KTP:Rb waveguides

K. S. Buritskiĭ, E. M. Dianov, V. A. Maslov, V. A. Chernykh, E. A. Shcherbakov
Abstract: The optical characteristics of channel waveguides made of rubidium-activated potassium titanyl phosphate (KTP:Rb) were determined. The refractive index increment of such waveguides was found to exhibit a considerable anisotropy: Δnx / Δnz ≈ 2. A deviation of the distribution of the refractive index in a channel waveguide from the model distribution was observed for ion-exchange times in excess of 1 h.
