Abstract:
Theoretical and experimental investigations of processes in microporous carbon adsorbents led to the development of a method for regeneration of the lasing activity of a medium circulating in a closed loop of an iodine photodissociation laser. An iodine laser with central flashlamp pumping, a longitudinally flowing active medium, and an optimized adsorption filter was found to be capable of pulse-periodic operation with an average output radiation power of ~ 60 W at a repetition frequency of 1 Hz; this laser emitted ~ 1500 pulses in the sealed state. The potentialities of the proposed regeneration method and ways of increasing the productivity of adsorption regeneration systems were analyzed.
