Lasers

Lasing dynamics of an electron-beam-controlled СO2 laser

M. N. Gordeeva, I. L. Yachnev
Abstract: The mechanism involved in forming the initial radiation peak emitted by a СO2 laser pumped by pulses of from one to several tens of microseconds duration was investigated using a numerical modeling method. A method of suppressing this peak in an electron-beam-controlled laser was considered, together with the possibility of obtaining a smooth radiation pulse in an amplifying system.
