Nonlinear amplitude and frequency resonances in Raman gas laser radiation

M. Z. Smirnov
Abstract: A theoretical analysis is made of Raman lasing in a gaseous medium. It is shown that if certain constraints on the parameters of the amplifying and absorbing media inside the laser resonator are satisfied, nonlinear resonances appear in the lasing spectrum. Expressions are derived to describe the profiles of these resonances. The threshold condition for Raman lasing in a gas laser is also obtained.
