Control of laser radiation parameters

Frequency-modulated laser with a nonlinearly absorbing cell

Abstract: The amplitude of the first harmonic of the output power of a laser, operating under frequency modulation conditions, is obtained for the case when the modulation index is small. A study is made of the shifts (due to a magnetic hyperfine structure) of the frequency stabilized using the F22 transition in methane. The influence of the "lens effects" is also investigated.
