Two-mode lasing in an extended layer of dye solution

I. P. Konovalov
Abstract: An analysis was made of two-mode lasing generating a line with a homogeneous gain profile and a width of the order of that of a dye-solution luminescence line. A relationship was established between the stable intermode frequency separations and regime dynamics on one hand and the thickness of the active medium layer and its position in the resonator on the other. The influence of mode trapping was taken into account in the case of a phase-anisotropic resonator.
