Abstract:
Experiments were carried out on a master oscillator-amplifier system. The oscillator was a CO2 laser with diffusion cooling (ILGN-702) and the amplifier was a fast-flow CO2 laser with a self-maintained transverse discharge. Modulation of the input radiation reaching the amplifier generated periodic pulses with an average power of 4.5 kW and a maximum peak power up to 36 kW. In the cw regime the power of the radiation obtained from the amplifier was 6.5 kW.
