Calculation of the energy characteristics of a supersonic mixing chemical CO laser

G. I. Kozlov, V. V. Snytserev
Abstract: The results are given of a calculation of the energy characteristics of a chemical CO laser in which the products of dissociation of carbon disulfide are mixed supersonically with oxygen. Calculations predict a weak influence of the vibrational–vibrational exchange between the CO molecules on the resonator conversion of the vibrational energy of CO into radiation. It is shown that, in principle, a laser of this type can operate at a near-atmospheric pressure in the resonator.
